Our Story

"Turning Waste into Wonder"

The problem that would inspire Mend began in 2011 when I took on the role of San Antonio’s Fairy Godmother. Over the years, I helped transform prom dreams into prom realities, but in the process, I accumulated an overwhelming amount of textile waste—beautiful fabrics and garments that I just couldn’t bring myself to throw away. I always believed that someday, the right idea would come to turn this waste into something meaningful.

That moment arrived in 2024, when I got married.

Along with the joy of the wedding came more dress waste, including my own wedding gown. What do you do with a beautiful wedding dress after the big day?

I couldn’t bear to let it hang in the closet, gathering dust and feeling forgotten. At the same time, I wanted to express my gratitude to my Wedding Madrinas with something truly special—something that symbolized the love and support they had given me.

Those two challenges sparked a solution.

I realized I could take this dress waste and transform it into beautiful, high-quality products that carried stories of love, celebration, and sustainability. And that’s how Mend was born—a way to breathe new life into textiles that might otherwise be discarded, creating something meaningful and lasting for the future.

OUR TEAM

Bringing Mend to life requires the dedication and creativity of a talented team. Through our collective efforts, we transform textile waste into meaningful, everyday products. Together, we’re turning this vision into reality, one sustainable piece at a time.
